I know… I know. I haven’t been keeping up with this photo project, but I promise I will try harder. This semester has just been much more reading than I expected. This post is decided to my high school friends. High school wasn’t a bad time in my life, but it does not compare to college. I think I had a pretty good high school experience that would not be the same without the people below. Just as a quick disclaimer, there are others that are not listed below who also hold a special place in my heart. I promise you all will one day be featured here. Anyways, I had the opportunity to catch up with these three amazing people over winter break and wish them the best in life.
I have technically known Deena since 7th grade, but it was not until 8th grade that we became friends. I remember in 8th grade, Deena would skip her Spanish class, err I mean “Go to the bathroom” every single day for the entire period, and spend lunch with us. We have grown so much and I have some of the deepest conversations with this girl. She is one of the most hardworking and opinionated people I know. Her straightforward approach to life is refreshing and I can always trust that she will tell me the truth no matter how hard it is to hear. Watch out world, Deena Kishawi will one day be a household name. She is going to build an empire with her amazingly beautiful “Modest Muslim” clothing line. Also Almonds. Just Almonds.
Ohhhh Karol… Where do I even begin? I have known of Karol since we were wee kids aka 2nd/3rd/I am not 100% sure if we were really every friends in Elementary school. Regardless, I remember it was Sophomore year that we truly became friends. Karol’s last name comes right after mine so he sat behind me in gym class/driver’s education. Our conversations are some of the most random, but also extremely intricate. Zombies, weird inventions, life, love, adventure… You name it, we’ve probably covered it. This kid wears his heart on his sleeve and is just too nice sometimes… Oh Karol. We go to the same school and barely hangout. Lets hangout more often. Also now that you’re a mechanical engineer, you should turn all of my crazy inventions into reality. You’ll find an amazing girl, I promise.
Caitlin, Caitycat22, Caitie, Caity… Is one of my absolute favorite people in the world. She has got my back no matter what and I honestly have no idea why she is friends with me sometimes. We’ve been apart of Blackhawks history together and she is my voice of reason. Literally. This girl has saved me from so much and is secretly one of the snappiest people I have ever met. She might initially judge 90% of the things I say, but will always support me no matter how ridiculous.
Oh Caity, I can’t even begin to explain or list all the craziness we have gotten into… I know that you will do amazing things in life and I can’t wait to see you change lives like you have changed mine.
Thank you for being my friends.
